Atom - Lowboys
Having never actually skated on these wheels before we here at Queen of the Rink don’t feel right reviewing them but if you’ve got a solid opinion on the Atom Lowboys please help us out by reviewing them for us.
I have only skated on both narrow and regular width Lowboys and I’ll pull them out whenever I am skating on a mid-grip concrete floor. I know jammers who love the lowboys on skatecourt. It’s really all about the floor with this wheel. The wheel is rated at 95a on the duro, and it is just a tad too hard for slick floors. It has both grip and roll, and the hollow core hub makes it lighter than a Zodiac. The responsiveness is not the same as with an aluminum hub, but chances are you’ll enjoy the speed gains.
I like this wheel. I wish the hub felt more like an alloy hub, but it is lighter and that is indeed worth something.
I meant to write “I have skated on both narrow and regular…” not only those two.
I just got these wheels a few months ago and absolutely love them. Mixed with my poisons, I feel I get the grip and speed that I need out on the track. They are fairly light and I couldn’t be happier with them in comparison to some of the other wheels I’ve skated on.
Love my Low Boys. Fast and incredible roll. Grip is amazing to start but with age naturally declines. Excellent for me on sport court (200#), pretty good on polished concrete. I’d like to see the same wheel in a 59mm. Maybe I’ll grind down to 59mm when I get them re-grooved. I guess that what Jukes 2.0 are, but the LB blue looks cooler.
